Are You Prepared to Survive on Your Own and For How Long?

Are you prepared to really survive on your own? Simple question isn't it? But think about it for a second, are you really prepared to do it? One look at whats taking place in the news should give you an idea of what kind of help you can expect from the federal government, little to none. What would happen if we suddenly found ourselves with an EMP attack over Chicago and New York Washington D.C and much of the nations electrical grid was down? Could you survive then? When I said what you see in the news, think about what you don't.
Various estimates of deaths related to an EMP attack are all over the board. No, not directly from the EMP itself. Were the deaths come in are from the lack of electrical power for places such as hospitals, nursing homes and so on. How long could you survive without power coming out of the wall? Do you have a well for your water? What about gasoline for your cars if they still run? How about food and other items from stores? You see without power there is nothing, no ATM's for money, no cell phone service, nothing. Do you know anyone with home oxygen services or tanks, guess what? Nothing. Whats worse is that it could stay that way for sometime. How long will your supplies last if needed?
We have just seen reports released that in the case of a nuclear attack people shouldn't look for help from the federal government for days, at least. Look at the response, or excuse me, the lack of response to the violence at the Mexican/American border region. Nothing, and no plans to help the states is being considered no matter how much they request it. It does not benefit Obama politically so he is not doing it. Could you survive on your own for a few months if needed?
Would you have water, food, shelter or heat? If you said yes that's good, but how long would your supplies last? You see where I'm going here is that many people who think they are prepared to face anything have not taken into consideration how long the emergency could last. Being prepared for a severe winter storm is one thing. Being prepared to survive for months pretty much without outside assistance is another. Which one are you? It's time to find out, before its too late.
